The most important step in achieving your dreams!
As I embark on this journey of becoming a better me, I realize that most people deal with the same issues when it comes to achieving their dreams. It's pretty sad but life sometimes forces us to retreat into shells. These shells can be anything from enabling family members, money, jobs, and yes even religion. We go into these places because they offer something masqueraded as safety. But when you boil it down to its surface, a shell is only temporary shelter. Inside it's dark and congested, not to mention you're immobile. So why do so many people call these shells their homes?
I have a saying, "Some people are comfortable being uncomfortable." What this means is, a lot of times we settle into a routine because we're "comfortable." We wake up early to go to a job that we usually can't stand. Stay there all day, then come home and give whatever energy we have left to our family. Only to wake up and do the same thing the next day. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying there is anything wrong with a 9-5 or working a job in general. Simply, what I'm getting at is, during our time at these places we are still struggling. After we pay bills, and take care of the necessary things in life, we're often left with little to nothing. WHY DO WE WORK TO PAY BILLS??? Why do we stay at a job we despise when in the end we're still struggling? What is the point? The answer is simple... we're comfortable. Although we don't have or do the things we want in life, we have accustomed ourselves to believing this is what we are supposed to do and all of our dreams and aspirations fall by the wayside
I honestly believe the most important part in achieving your dreams is simply to KNOW THAT YOU CAN! Life has a way of weighing you down and making you feel unworthy or powerless, when in actuality, you are neither of those things. Your power is endless but YOU have to realize it. Who would Clark Kent be if he didn't know he was Superman? I'll tell you... just Clark Kent. For some people that's ok, but to those of us who want to fly, being Clark Kent just won't do. I encourage you to BELIEVE today. The only person stopping you...IS YOU.
